Curriculum

Maria Montessori believed all children could discover their inner curiosity when they are in a safe, welcoming school environment and when they are allowed to work at their own pace. The approach fosters critical thinking and self-control with proven academic results.

Elm City Montessori School features an integrated academic and social curriculum and multi-age classrooms. Children start Elm City Montessori at age three, and they remain in a classroom with the same teacher (Guide) for three years, surrounded by classmates in a three-year age range. Through multi-age classrooms, children foster strong relationships with their teachers, and the children learn from each other – the younger ones are helped by the older ones.
